St. Luke Catholic School Library

Welcome to the St. Luke Catholic School Library for 2011-2012! The library is now OPEN for circulation, and indeed your students have been checking out library books already.
I am excited to be back in the position of Library Manager. I work part-time and see that the format for library use is carried out on a weekly basis.
All classes visit the SLCS library either once a week, or once every two weeks, depending on the grade level.  The library schedule is as follows:

prek 3 & 4     have story time on Friday mornings
Kindergarten visits the library every Tuesday
1/2 Grades     visit the library every Friday
3/4 Grades     visit the library every Monday
5th Grade       visits the library every Wednesday
6th Grade   visits the library every 2 weeks on Tues.
7th Grade   visits the library every 2 weeks on Wed.
8th Grade   visits the library every 2 weeks on Tues.

St. Luke Catholic School library has multiple book titles in both Fiction and Non-Fiction, a Religion section, with saint biographies, Bibles, and information on the Catholic Church, a Reference section, and two computers for teachers' use.  There are numerous titles for prek through 8th Grade reading levels. Students check out one or two books according to grade level.
St. Luke's holds an annual book fair to encourage reading and for fundraising toward the purchase of library books and materials. There will be more information on this in the coming weeks.
Thank you and I look forward to this year.

Mrs. Sawczyn, Library Manager
